Fees and Insurance

Mental health services should be accessible to everyone, no exceptions.  I reject the capitalistic model that does not take into account the individual needs of the person.

I do not accept insurance and do not anticipate doing so.

If your income exceeds 400% above the poverty line in NC, the fees are below.

Individual Therapy 60 minutes: $150

Couples Therapy 60 minutes: $300

Family Therapy 90 minutes: $200

Sex Therapy 60 minutes: $200

Group Therapy: $40-$50 per group

What is Sliding Scale?

All services are sliding scale, meaning that payment is tailored to make sure people get the help they need.

Set fees are below, but my services are sliding scale based upon income and each patient’s individual circumstances.

*Payment options:  Cash, Check, Debit card, Credit Card, Venmo, Paypal

Missed or Canceled Appointments: If you are unable to keep an appointment, please give 24 hours notice to avoid a missed session fee.

Insurance Coverage:

I am an out of network provider and my services are eligible for reimbursement from health insurance companies.  You can determine whether you have out of network benefits by contacting your insurance company directly to ask if they reimburse for out of network mental health services.  I will provide you with a receipt of your visit, with appropriate diagnostic codes and IDs so that you can be reimbursed directly for any out of network benefits that your particular insurance provides.

It is helpful for you to find out specifics of your mental health coverage with your insurance company by asking the following questions (this information is intended as a guideline and does not guarantee services or insurance benefits):

  1. * Does my policy cover out of network mental health services?

  2. * Do I need pre-authorization in order to make an appointment? If so, how to obtain it?

  3. * What is my deductible for these services?

  4. * Is there a maximum number of visits per year?

  5. * Which services are covered (e.g. couples therapy, group therapy, phone sessions)
